Winter in Cogne is a season to be discovered: the Sant’Orso meadows turn into a great big snow party for adults and children, the animals come down to the valley and it is easy to see them up close, horse-pulled sleighs are available and there’s a magical atmosphere all around.

And many sports: cross-country skiing, walks on the snow and wearing snowshoes, ice-skating and much more.

For your skiing days, the Petit Hotel has available a ski storage and waxing room.

Skiing in Cogne: cross-country

12 circuits, 80km of trails for cross-country skiing, a total immersion in the pristine environments of the Gran Paradiso National Park. The tracks wend their way through woods, with views of small bridges and streams, a place where you can find yourself at one with nature in the precious gift of silence, in contact with the vital energy that snow seems to contain. For those who want a little more exertion, remember that Cogne is the scene of major competitions such as the Alpine Skiing World Cup and also the Gran Paradiso March which has been organised every year since 1975.

Alpine skiing and snowboarding

Two chairlifts and a cable car to a small, friendly ski area that reaches an altitude of 2252m. You can ski with no queues or waiting for the lifts, and very quickly find yourself in a dream of pure beauty where encounters with ibex, chamois and stoats are a daily event. You can also benefit from snow always in excellent condition thanks to the northern exposure.

For your children there is a fun snow park located in the centre of Cogne which has a magic carpet conveyor and where they can learn to ski and have fun, sliding on colourful, soft rafts for snow tubing.
